Yoshi's Story

Yoshi and his brother Luigi are two of the sweetest cats you could ever hope to meet! Both brother's have the cutest, stubby, kinked tails. As soon as you get to know them, they will turn right over on their bellies for you to pet them and the look of total bliss on their faces encourage you never to stop doing it.

Yoshi and his brother Luigi aremust be adopted together since Yoshi takes care of Luigi, acting like his big brother. Luigi depends on Yoshi for support and encouragement.

Yoshi has allergies that cause his eyes to water but this is easily taken care of by wiping them once in a while with a damp papertowel.

Yoshi and Luigi were adopted from FURR when they were 6 months old. Unfortunately, rather than being returned to us (FURR will always take back a cat we adopt out and we let adopters know this during the adoption process), Luigi and Yoshi were surrendered to a kill shelter. Luckily, we got them both back after being contacted by the shelter before they were to be euthanized.

It would ideal for these brothers to be adopted together but it is not absolutely necessary.

Yoshi is UTD on all his shots, has been wormed, tested negative for FIV and FELV, and is neutered. Luigi is residing at the Adoption Center in the Phillipsburg, NJ Petco and he will be there for our weekly adoption days every Saturday from 10-4. Call Bobbi 908-652-1278 for more information or email us at info@felineurbanrescueandrehab.org.

Adoption Center Caregiver Comments

Following are comments from our caregivers at the Philipsburg Petco. These volunteers interact with the cats regularly. If you are interested in volunteering as a caregiver at a Petco location, email us at info@felineurbanrescueandrehab.org.

Jennifer on Yoshi: When I first met Yoshi, I opened his kitty condo to say hello. He was making himself small and was obviously nervous. As soon as he saw me, though, he looked up and made the smallest meow as if to say, "Hi. I'm scared.". With his runny eyes it was especially poignant. It broke my heart, so I spent an extra long amount of time with him, petting him and whispering that everything would be ok. He took a little longer than his brother to relax but now that he has settled in he just shines! He seems to love the belly rubs even more than his brother (if that's possible!) and he gets right on his back as soon as I open his condo door. I call him my big mush because he is such a love bug!

Laura On Luigi and Yoshi: Luigi and his brother Yoshi are both very sweet boys. Luigi is a bit more animated and outgoing; Yoshi is a mite shy. Although they could be adopted to separate homes, they seem bonded to one another, as they prefer to spend most of their time together in one kitty condo. Both these kitties seem very patient and tolerant, and yet playful. I think they would be a perfect match for a family with middle school age children.
