Nera is the mother of Aragon, Orion and Juliet. Rescued by a kind family in Stewartsville, NJ. Believed to have been one of many cats left behind by owners that moved away. Nera is a special soul. She is young and wise. She has proven to be a great hunter at her foster home. She took excellent care of her babies but once she was spayed she preferred to be independent of them as well as the other cats in the foster home. She prefers to be the only cat. She follows you around in the house or in the yard like a dog. She jumps in the foster families car when they are unloading groceries and will wait on the floor at the side of the tub for you to finish taking your shower or bath. Although she has been an inside-outside cat, because she is black she is at a much higher risk of being hit by a car. She is out in the yard while the foster family is out in the yard and then she goes back in the house when they go in. She is not allowed out after dark. She needs to find a permanent home with enough property that she is not near a road. Over the past few months four of her family members that were also black were killed on the road before they could be rescued. Black cats are impossible to see at night. She mostly chirps to get your attention and sometimes meows. She is not a big eater of wet food but she likes the gravy on it. Nera has been fostered with other cats and a small older terrier. She ignores the terrier and will growl at the other cats. She makes a great people companion. She is a really neat cat.
